About LAVintage

LA Vintage, a thriving vintage fashion company dedicated in providing the finest vintage clothing, was born on March 7th 2009. After years of merchandising their exclusive vintage pieces through various vintage fashion boutiques on Melrose Place, the trendiest strip in Los Angeles idolized by all the fashion gurus, LA Vintage decided to connect directly with their patrons. Every week, LA Vintage selects fresh stock of exquisite vintage clothing, shoes and accessories, and makes them available online at company direct prices.
The Company's History

The roots of this prospering vintage fashion provider go back to 1992, when the owner of LA Vintage - Murtuza H visited Los Angeles and fell in love with the city. Little did he know that his initial fascination with the City of Angels would make him move to California 2 months later. He operated a small trading office in Torrance, California where he began brokering container loads of second hand clothing from rag houses and selling them to various economically poor and developing countries around the world like Africa & Mexico. He decided to establish his own rag house in 1996, after gaining over four years of experience and securing a firm foothold in rag trade. LA Vintage is much more than just an online vintage store. It’s a part of a fully integrated recycling company Samiyatex that diverts millions of lbs of clothing and shoes away from landfills every year.

Today, LA Vintage’s rag operation at Samiyatex processes more than 12 million pounds of clothing and 5 million lbs of shoes every year, with the help of their young, energetic and fashion conscious team. Their “green-team” hand-picks only the best, one-of-a-kind, vintage jewels that are unique in era, fabric, construction, stitching, color, and style, to be sold online on LA Vintage website. Although vintage clothing represents less than 1% of all the clothing that gets processed at Samiyatex, their team believes that it is worth the hunt, as many people around the world are always looking to wear something uniquely special that will make them stand out from the crowd. The remaining clothes are exported overseas. So next time when you see someone oversees wearing a Disney T-shirt or sporting Michael Jordan Nike tennis shoes, you now have a fair idea of where it might have come from. Wearing vintage also reduces the consumption of the dangerously depleting natural resources of our planet and the carbon footprint that gets created while manufacturing new clothes. Vintage fashion not only makes you look à la mode but inspires you to lead a greener life!
